Hello Matthew
Thanks for your prompt response. I guess my contribution to this issue is:
I believe it is an energy issue for CEFE not a forest policy issue. With CEFE targeting 50/50 by 2020 with renewable energy I think it is very important that the proposed SEFE biomass plant should be exposed for what it is. CEFE could say we don't support the establishment of a new energy production plant in our area that is not renewable energy. You could highlight the funding just received towards the establishment of a solar farm.
For some it is also a forest issue, but I believe it is an energy issue for CEFE in promoting Clean Energy for Eternity not in the case of the SEFE plant Dirty Energy for Eternity.

Hi Valerie,
CEFE's core business is drawing attention to the opportunities presented to our communities by climate change. To that end, we have been heavily focused on three things;
-our 50/50 by 2020 target
-LifeSaving Energy
-community owned solar farms

We have been working on our forest policy for some time. CEFE have recently been criticised for not having a strong stance on trees, and some rather strange assumptions have been made about what our position actually is.

In response to your specific questions;
1. We have not given the OK to anything at the Eden Chip Mill.
2.aa
3.I'm afraid that you will have to wait for the release of the CEFE forest policy. I am aware of the frustration that any delay is causing, but we will release our policy when we are ready.
I would welcome any input that you may have, which can be done either through this guest book, or via direct e mail.

As a member of CEFE in the Moruya area, and proud of the marvellous work CEFE has done to date, I would like to ask Matthew Nott the following questions:

1.Has CEFE given the OK for the SEFE backed Biomass generating plant at Eden using so called waste from logging forests?

2.Has CEFE given the OK for this electricity generating plant at Eden using waste from other sources/areas?

3.If CEFE has not yet opposed this proposed electricity generating plant at Eden will it be publicly opposed by CEFE?

I look forward to your response.

As a former resident of the Eden/Monaro district (Williamsdale on the Monaro H-way) It is heartening to find a group with a positive approach to climate change, taking steps to help in the global challenge. Great work, will keep checking you site regularly. Kind regards Donna
