Yes after much happening behind the scenes I am happy to announce that the Bandanna Day Bike Ride is back on the road.
Now we need community support more than ever, you can either register and participate in the ride and raise some money in sponsorship or if you can't make it on the day you can simply sponsor a rider.
I've committed to a fundraising target of $25,000.00 for this years event so we need your help.
The Bandanna Day Bike Ride is a non-competitive charity bicycle ride held to raise funds and awareness for the CanTeen organisation, a great community day out.
The event takes place on Bandanna Day each year (last Friday in October) and over $120,000 has been raised for CanTeen since the first ride in October 2000, an average of 100 riders participate each year.

2008 Event Details
Date Friday 31st October, 2008
Registration All riders must register by 20th October, 2008 no entries accepted on the day
Starting Point Gather in Littleton Gardens, Bega from 8.00am.
Start Time Riders depart Bega at 9.00am
Finish Time The ride will conclude in Littleton Gardens at approximately 2.30pm
The Route
The routte for this years event has been changed to an out and back ride from Bega to Mermibula on the Princes Highway with a lunch stop at the MerimbulaImlay Bowling Club before heading back to Bega the same way.

Individual or Team
You can ride the entire route on your own or you may like to get a team together and share the riding as a team relay, remember this is not a race just a great day out with the community and its all about participation and fun.
Velocity Health & Fitness Virtual Ride
This year Deb from Velocity Health and Fitness Club will be leading a group in 2 hour spin class whcih will simulate the actual Bandanna Day Bike Ride route.

Fundraising
This year the fundraising part has been simplified even more with all fundraising being facilitated through CanTeens's "Raise more than a Sweat" program.
All riders will create their own "Hero Page" when registering and and then all you have to do is email all your friends and relatives to donate to your Hero Page online.
Prize for Highest Fundraiser
This year the person that raises the most money in sponsorship will win a great prize. The highest fundraiser will be rewarded with an overnight stay at the 5 star Westin Sydney Hotel.
